RIP Olimpico Stadion. Welkom Grêmio Arena.
Porto Alegre – De laatste wedstrijd in het Olimpico Stadion, thuishaven van Grêmio. In verband met het WK 2014 is er een nieuw stadion gebouwd. Onze broeders in Brazilië maakte twee fotorepos. Fototorcida deed een mooie serie van de laatste wedstrijd tegen Internacional. Richard Ducker was bij de opening van de Grêmio Arena.

Palmeiras – Woop woop! Ja hoorrrrrr, Gabriel van Fototorcida slaat weer toe met een fucking harde repo van de Mancha Verde van Palmeiras. Niets aan toevoegen… kijken doe je met je ogen hierrrrrr.

Brasil – Fototorcida, you all know our mattie and photographer Gabriel Uchida of his brilliant coverage of the Brasilian scene. If you don’t know him, you know nothing! So take some time to check his beautiful site. Tnx to the right connections, he is able/allowed to take pictures from within the hard core support of many different (top-)clubs. Fototorcida gives you a complete and unique overview of the colorful Brasilian terrace culture.
But there are problems yet. The situation in Brasil seems to become similar to the one in Europe… Uchida faces some problems. Not with the hard core supporters, but with authorities. Uchida is an official journalist, got all the official papers, but openly stands a “supporter position” in the media. Gabriel is talking against modern football, against police brutality and authorities bullshit and stuff. And now the “men of power” are trying to keep him down and away from football. As a result of his criticism he is not allowed to take pictures anymore where he want to.
Give him some moral support by visiting his site. European supporters against repression and censorship! Long live our beautiful culture.
